We had to have abit of a lie in this morning, we weren't feeling bad but definitely weren't feeling the best. We met the gang at Gary's for some breakfast and decided what to do with the rest of the day. Vikki & Ryan were planning a lazy day but we convinced them to come exploring on a moped with us!
So we went across the road and hired two pink mopeds! (Kara's idea) We wanted to go to the Blue Lagoon (Basically a lagoon… that is blue). We had a hand drawn map from the guy at the rental shop and headed off!
We had to get some petrol so asked the pump man to put half a tank in both. We both ended up with full tanks! Which would turn out later on to come in handy!
It didn't look that far to the lagoon but once we got on the way the roads were basically just rocks! They look like they were built in the Roman days. It was not the best place to be on a moped so it took a long time to get there. Fearing at any moment the rocks would rebel against our moped and make us fall off.
We encountered many obstacles along the way including cows, geese, pigs and some things that looked like goats. These animals really do not care if you are about to hit into them with your moped. They rule the road's ha ha.
After the bumpy journey we finally reached the lagoon and it look amazing! Definitely what we needed after a day of drinking and a bumpy journey. However James saw a sign for a cave. Not really what I wanted to be doing but we took a look. The climb up to the cave was just ridiculous, I decided against this and me and Vikki decided to chill in the lagoon leaving James & Ryan to go and explore. Bare in mind they were renting head torches at the bottom of the climb because the cave is so dark, the boys were armed with only a torch on an iPhone! Me & Vikki were sure we would never see them again so I took the moped key off of James so we could get home :-)
Apparently the cave was good but as expected very dark and they wrote our names on the wall, very sweet! In the middle of the cave was a leaning Buddha, then after this the fun start. You had to climb over and under several rocks and squee through gaps, after this it become pitch black. This is where we wrote the girls names on the rocks, were not vandals, everyone previous to us had got involved. We were the only people in there it was pretty creepy, iPhone torch didn't give us much more than an arms length of light in front of us. After our tribal hand paintings the floor got ridiculously muddy, with only toms and flip flops on we decided to head back. The walk back down was interesting, stupidly steep and by this time we were sweating like mad. We couldn't wait to reach the bottom!
Once they reached the lagoon they saw me & Vikki chilling on a rope swing in the water. We both egged the boys on to jump off of the highest branch of this tree into the lagoon. I think they felt the peer pressure and to our amazement they went straight up the tree!
It was actually really high and I was definitely not going to be doing this, especially as I had a strapless bikini top on. But they got straight involved and jumped, without loosing any items of clothing. We got some awesome GoPro pics.
After we had a splash around we got back on the mopeds and decided to go to a cave called the Elephant cave (its a cave that looks like an elephant believe it or not) We had no idea where this was but headed what we thought was in the right direction. Bare in mind we still only had this hand drawn inaccurate mate to go by. 1/2 hour later we had a case of serious numb bum so stopped and asked some locals where it was. They pointed and said 3km that way! We were very happy about this so sped off! About 15km later still so sign… It was getting dark and cold so we cut our losses and headed back. Like I said before the animals here give no f***ks. Several cows ran out infront of us, one little calf actually tried to race us! If that wasn't bad enough, James seemed to think it was funny to try and hit as many potholes as he could on the way causing me extreme bum pain!
We got the bikes back about 6pm and went for a shower. We were all starving so went to a restaurant with views of the mountains and ordered loads of food. Once we had some more energy we went to the Kangaroo bar. You can roll a dice here and if you hit 1 you get free drinks all night. I was kind of hoping we wouldn't win as I was really tired and didn't fancy staying out late.
Luckily we didn't win.
So we had a beer and left Ryan & Vikki to party on without us. Time for us to get some sleep ready for another travelling day tomorrow!
J&K over and out!
