What an adventurous day. We woke up in the lovely Thessaloniki Grease and spent three hours in their splendid train station. We had the priviledge the night before to sleep a couple of doors down from a friendly chap named Jimmy. Dale came up with the name Jimmy the Chimney, because well, he smoked like a chimney. He was probably the most obnoxious fella we have met so far. There was a guy that looked like Pete Sampras from Brasov, but I think Jimmy takes the cake. Anyways, we knew Jimmy was going to Athens and guess what, even though 2 trains for Athens left before our, Jimmy was on our train, in our car the next row over and a couple seats down! What luck! Well somewhere in between Istanbul and Athens I lost my passport, which is not a good feeling. I didn't realize it until we arrived at our hostel in Athens. I am pretty sure it was stolen, given the street value is $30,000 according to someone staying in our hostel. I remember making sure we didn't leave anything when we got off either trains and I am pretty sure it didn't fall out of my pocket. If I would have known it was that valuable I would have taken extra precautions to secure it. I figured it was pretty useless given the fact it has RFID chips(thank you Zmud) and what not. For everyone wandering if we are getting into trouble late at night the answer is no. We have been traveling every other day and are pretty tired from walking around all day. If we do go out at night the women don't just flock to us like we thought they would :( Oh well I will try and go to the Embassy tomorrow because I have had no luck calling the train station to see if it has turned up.
