Arrived early in the morning, about 5:15, to Thessalniki. I spoke with four different parties and guess what? No one had the passport, although they all seemed simpathetic, which is good I guess. Dale took the 6:15 train to Sofia in hopes that I would arrive on the later train. I then went in search of the consolute to get my passport. Once I made it to the building it was pretty easy to get in. The consolute was very helpful but gave me the bad news...I was going to receive my passport on Monday at the earliest. That kind of threw a kink in my plans. I booked a hotel/hostel for a night in Thessalniki, but I am not sure if I will stay here for more than one night. I figure I might try and go to Delphi since I can travel for free within Greece. If I do that I will probably continue on to Athens because it is cheaper to stay there than Thessaloniki. There is an Macedonian museum with a bunch of stuff from Alexander and Phillip II, but I can swing by while I am waiting for my train on Monday. Later that night we went out with some people from the hotel. Dang Thessaloniki is expensive. The ritzy part of town charges 5 euros(about $7) for a heinken bottle 12 oz. I had one and that broke my bundget for the night and decided to retire.
