Early afternoon we arrived at the Evening Star Tourist Park, we were greeted by lovely hosts, they made us very welcome and hoped we enjoyed our stay. The park was immaculate, very clean and tidy and nice little touches like some yellow flowers maybe Wattle and leaves, in a small bunch tucked in behind the toilet cistern. They had a huge big fire pit which you could go and sit around, and from 5 -6 they had happy hour, plus a good old country sing along! Got the washing up to date as will have no facilities till day five Dalhousie.
The Gold Coast crew arrived about 4pm, they left the Gold Coast @ 6am, had a good run through although Des had a problem with his Ranger jumping out of 5th gear. Had a couple of beers and a catch up whilst they set up.
7.15pm we were booked in at the Cosmos Centre, (astrology) it was quite amazing, they had four big telescopes in a building. Once inside they rolled the roof back completely to expose the sky, it was a clear night with a quarter moon. We we're enlightened with some facts and figures, a bit hard to comprehend when they tell you the light from a particular star took 2000 light years. That means the light we saw left left 2000 light years ago! The moon was the first one we looked at, amazing detail. We then looked at some stars, finishing with the planet Saturn, it was also amazing.
We then headed to the Charleville Hotel to catch the end of the rugby, Super 12 Final, 20 all when we arrived. It appeared to be a hard and fast game and why the Crusaders would kick the ball to the Waratahs, when they were in front with 5 mins or so to go, is beyond me!
Another very cold night zero or not much more.
