Left early at around half 9 from Melaka to get bus to KL. After 2 hour journey, made it to KL. We walked to our hotel from the bus station which was in the middle of Chinatown. We just had time to grab some lunch before making our way back to the hotel to meet for sightseeing tour. Tania, Jemma, Dariya and I went to a little restaurant next to the hotel as they wanted to try dumplings. I got some veg noodles made for me. It is amazing how accomodating most people are, I have had no prob getting a veg meal prepared for me so far. At half 1 we set off for our sightseeing tour. The first stop was the famous Batu caves. The last day of the Thaipusam festival (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaipusam) so mass amount of cleaning was taking place. It was an amazing place. From the Batu caves we went to a Pewter factory, it was interesting to see how they make the pewter prods and also the detail involved in the customised and handmade products. Did have a go, unfort haven't found a new vocation! We headed back to the city centre to get some photos with Petronas Tower as backdrop. We passed the Sultan's Palace, but by this time the heavens opened up and it poured. So made it safely back to the hotel. We freshened up and everyone met at 7, by this time the rain had stopped and I didn't join the group as I was meeting up with Hema, Siva and his new wife. Went to an Indian restaurant and then they showed me round their city. It was really exciting catching up. Got back to the hotel, walked through the market, which is just as we step out of our hotel, by this time the rest had returned too. Went to bed shattered.

Day 2, everyone was up early and we made our way to go up Petronas. Took the LRT and queued for the tickets. They issue a limited no of tickets which are on a first cum first basis. Got to go up at 9.15am which was good as didn't have to wait too long. The view from the top was amazing. Got down and got cabs to the electronics mall, some people browsed there and I went to the other mall Times Square Shopping centre. This place had a proper roller coaster inside it, but didn't go to it as had to buy a band for the funzone, didn't want to go on any other rides. So we all went for Fish foot spa. You dip your feet in a tank and little fish bite off the dry skin off the feet. It was hilarious as 11 of us sat along this snaking sunken tank giggling as initially it really tickles. Ultimately just get used to it and had loads of fish nibbling away at our feet. After 40 mins and very soft feet, we got the mono rail back to Chinatown and went to the Central market. Saw lots of little stalls selling diff crafts, clothes etc. Dariya had her palm read and done a tarot reading. We then got to the hotel and browsed through the market outside the road. The road outside our hotel doorstep is the busiest one here, it has numerous stalls selling designer copies of everything, handbags, pens, shoes, etc it is amazing what they sell. Everyone is keen to keep their baggage weight to a minimum hence no one's actually getting anything, we've got Bangkok to come so I'll live lol.
