My life in Cairns has involved of lots of working, partying, sleeping and sunbathing. I came to Cairns with a friend called Pheobe who works at the same bar as I did in Sydney, but she only stayed a few weeks (however she might come back up soon).

So on Monday evening I went out for a few quiet drinks with Jamie and a manger of the other bar at the Woolshed and I managed to win myself a 2-4-1 skydive voucher in my extremely drunken state! Dave and I had always discussed doing a skydive but he leaves on Monday so we didnt think we had time, so this was a blessing in disguise!

On Friday at 1pm, we got picked up from my apartment and taking to the airport where we met the professional skydivers that we would be jumping with. We still had to pay $335 (for the half the skydive, a video and about 100 photos) but it was worth every dollar!!!! (Most of the photos are on facebook, Im trying to figure how to upload multiple on here in one go, but for now you can all enjoy the hideous photo which IS NOT on facebook of my lovely flaring nostrils!!!)

Anwyay, we got on the plane strapped in our harnesses and attatched to the professional. It took about 20 mins to climb 14000ft, we got half way and I thought we were nearly there, but no we weren't! I had a look at the pilot and immediately recognised him. I realised that on our first night in Cairns, Phoebe and I had been talking to him and his friend who is also a pilot, and they were pretty drunk telling us how they are pilots for skydive trips. We didnt overly believe them as thought they shouldnt be drinking to go flying at 7am, but I soon was proved wrong as the pilot of our plane was one of these guys! We safely arrived 14000ft high in the sky, and the first 5 had dived before so flipped out backwards (we didnt thankfully!) Dave went first then I soon followed, we sat on the edge of the plane for about a second and then went..!! We were freefalling for about a minute, it was unbeliable, I cant quite describe it! We were falling so quickly and I couldnt quite take in what was going on! After a minute or so the guy let out the parachute and we quickly slowed down and were swaying around at a nice pace, floating about the sky...I could have stayed there forever! We safely landed to find 2 people being sick, apparently its quite normal, we were fine though. We then got dropped back at the apartment and watched the hilarious dvd's which include great pig nose shots! So thats about it for now! Ill upload more photos soon!
