hello
back in bangkok now and flying to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning, will be very sad to leave Thailand :-( there's just so much to do and love here.
We passed our Scuba exams so we are now qualified divers (scary!). It was incredible diving around Phi Phi, we even swam with sharks (they told me they were only plankton eaters so i wouldn't be scared, but they were big reef sharks!). If you have a look at my latest photos, we went diving off the big rock formation like an ice berg in the sea, the water was the clearest i've ever seen. So now we have the diving bug and can't wait to go in oz, fiji and Hawaii. Larry fullfilled his mission of seeing a yellow boxfish too, which was really funny.
We spent our last day in Lanta, saying our goodbyes to Mari and Matias and chilling on the beach. A swedish couple got married on the beach at sunset, it was very beautiful.
Went to the river kwai two days ago, which was very interesting but emotional as 15000 soldiers died building the bridge. We signed up for the kayaking trip, thinking it's be a little easy trip down the river. They asked us if we were athletic and naively said yes only to be driven about 8 miles up the river and dumped in the water. it was very peaceful, a nice way to see the bridge and good fun.
oh yes, we ate locusts too!Very crunchy, just like pork scratchings apparently!
