Bet Bet's adventures abroad
Hello again!
Today I went to Bath via Stonehenge. Stonehenge was a lot smaller than I expected, but was pretty impressive. I got bored on stage 3 of 7 of the audio tour, so i didn't really learn much, but pretty much got the idea that no-one actually knows what it is there for...
It was cool to see though, and is set in some pretty amazing countryside.
Our tour guide was an absolute nutter, who could barely remember what she was going to say, but did get really excited at the prospect of some military action as we passed through Warminster.
I loved Bath. It is such a beautiful city with some amazing features and history. For example, it was where the first postage stamp, the Penny Black, was sent from. And, every single building is made from the same stone, Bath stone. I was very impressed with how many useless facts I remembered!! We saw the Roman Baths, which were really interesting, and then had some wicked scones with jam and cream. It was a really beautiful place, and the countryside between Bath and London is amazing, with funny little rock walls dividing the properties.
Really pretty!
P.S. I have just realised this says Jan 26th up the top, but it was actually the week before that, on the 19th... I guess that's what happens when I don't update for a while...
