I slept for a solid 10 hours... Which was much needed after being up for so long!
Carol had a doctors appointment early this morning, so I ran across the street to walk around the mall... Window shopped at most of the places, and walked into Big W (which I thought was short for Woolworth's) and tried to find some coffee creamer.
Well needless to say, it wasn't Woolworth's, and when I did find the Woolworth's, I was met with some confusion over what exactly coffee creamer is. Luckily, this nice guy helped me find the powdered stuff... And after standing there for 5 minutes, totally perplexed as to why Australians didn't use flavored coffee creamer, I looked up and it was like the Heaven's opened - there was a package of 10 individual hazelnut creamers! Oh thank you baby Jesus!
After I purchased this liquid gold, Carol took me over to meet her friend, Maria, who lived down the street from the mall. What a hoot! And what a beautiful home!! (I took some pictures in front of her Christmas decorations). We had a great afternoon over there, and Maria even introduced me to a cheese and mango chutney sandwich - divine! Carol took a swim in the pool, and I plunged my feet in the shallow end, as Maria told us some funny stories from the past.
Now, the day would not be complete without me letting you know that I finally tried the TimTam Slam!! Ok, the 1st second of sucking the life out of that damn cookie, I honestly thought I was doing it wrong... But then the deliciousness of my hazelnut flavored coffee rushed through my TimTam. You can only do the slam for a couple of seconds - the cookie starts to dissolve like an Oreo in milk - but that was an experience everyone needs to try at least once!!
Now I'm sitting on the back porch, drinking my coffee, enjoying the cool breeze, while listening to the birds chirp at each other, a gecko taunt me from the roof, and the billions of skinks (which are the most vile things ever - wet looking lizards) rustle around in the bushes.
Not sure what's planned for dinner, although we might try out the new Mexican place, Cactus Mexicana. I don't know why, but I really want to eat Mexican food while I'm here! LOL! Tomorrow's our trip to the Australian Zoo, so I'll post a ton of pictures! Until then, cheers!
