Carol and I caught the train into Brisbane, to walk along the South Bank of the Brisbane River.
Even though it's summertime, there was a very nice, cool breeze, and not as many people as I had expected.
Another thing I didn't expect, was the public pool and beach are separate from the river... It's all man-made, but you wouldn't know it when you're standing there. Just like any natural beach, there were sunbathers, kids splashing around in the water, and lifeguards keeping watch.
Everything was so clean!! (But I doubt you'd be able to find many seashells there LOL)
We stopped for lunch at The Shore Restaurant, where I enjoyed a steak sandwich and glass of wine. The view from our table was very nice! The only thing that I didn't particularly care for was the damn lizard (or as Carol refers to as a water dragon) that followed me from the front door and sat in the bush next to my feet!!
Come on reptiles! I'm sorry, but there's no way you and I will ever be friends!
