Beth´s world trip
we left the tour and hit buenos aires, to those who recommended the mill house - good call! we had a great time. we got a really good dorm with two private bathrooms and 6 other lovely ppl, downside is we now compare every hostel to it and its great showers!! (possibly the best in south america!!) we did some sight-seeing but mainly we partyed! the hostel throws parties twice a week, so even when we didnt go out to clubs we were having lots of fun. we even went to a tango show, and i got bullied into doing the free tango lesson at the hostel. thankfully i got partnered with someone who had already had lessons so i didnt make that much of an idiot of myself!
we were in BA for 10 days before we finally made it to the bus station for our first mamoth bus journey. 12 hours to mendoza!! we liked medoza a lot, it was much more relaxing after BA - we actually got some sleep. we either spent our time lounging in the hostel or being really touristy! we did a tour of the mountains and of course a wine tour. we went for an expensive one as it included lunch - it was the right choice!! we went to two wineries and one liquior distillary, tasting plenty as we went. then we turned up to lunch, a four meter table that was covered in food, you know the type, cheeses, meats, bread, olives and lots of other bits and bobs before they brought out the hot stuff. we were there for two hours in all and throughout our glasses were being filled up with free wine! nice one!! after that we went into town and ended up watching a very amusing drag show in a gay bar called la reserva. might not have understood what they were saying but batman and robin were brilliant!
we then headed off to Bariloche - having missed the bus by a day!! Selina did her best im going to cry if you dont let me on the bus body language and made up a story about how we had to get to chile the following day and they let us on without any extra charge. 19 hours!!!!!! Bariloche is a little skiing town in the argentinian lake district, its stunning. we did a couple of cheap tours that took us up to the best view points and even did a days skiing. selina loved it (first time skiing) i wasnt so sucessful as i got stuck with ppl who couldnt snow plough and my pass only let me on one lift but i still had a laugh.
