Still here. Good news is that yesterday's fearsome rain has been replaced by some fearsome heat. This Indian Summer is living up to it's reputation. I managed to relieve yesterday's boredom by popping to the 'INOX' Cinema where Indian middle classes are lapping up the Cinema going experience. Slightly put off by the bandana wearing 'Pirates' who took my ticket on the door but otherwise my mood was greatly lifted by some Western Culture at long last and the return to form of PoTC. Glad to see a slightly abstract plot, a few twists and an end to the themeparkride that was Dead Man's Chest. Go see it people. Now, if only I good watch some football. The pre-film national anthem caught me off guard as did the half time interval for a samosa/chai refill. The second idea seems great and I'm not sure why we no longer do it. Won't say anything about the first idea.
Finished a veritable little 'pilgramage' of Old Goa's many Portuguese Churches by lunchtime today and I feel like I've OD'd on these now, as much as I did on Rajasthani Castles earlier. Glad to be getting out of here tomorrow, nicely timed I hope to avoid any Election fallout, although it does mean spending a day in the drab town of Margao (wasn't that Morph's friend/enemy?) waiting for my train.
ps - Great man and all that but why every town has to show it's patriotic credentials and name a road Mahatma Ghandi is beyond me.
pps - Congratulations to Beth and Ni who both just finished yet another run for Cancer Research yesterday. See www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/BethanAThomson - I feel very unfit in comparison, maybe it's the omlette in a fried bun accompanied by some chillies fried in batter I ate last night? Scotland still has stuff to learn it seems.
