Jaisalmer. Wonderful temples, charming locals. Except the dude who just turned off my computer as I'm doing this (I promise, I said nothing). Turns out Sleeper Class is not that bad. Getting onto the train seemed to be a case of 'drive harder' at which I'm a natural, and the hordes of Indian Soldiers equipped with AK47s on my platform was a sight to behold. Tell Pakistan they don't appear to be the fittest bunch. Other than that, a fairly uneventful 13 hrs other than the unwelcome arrival of DelhiBelly towards the end (tmi? No probs.) Jaisalmer rises out of the desert like a golden sandcastle from a mythical age. God, I sound like the guidebook. Anyhoo, another fort (yawn?) under my belt and a camel ride later and i feel like a proper Westerner. Will be pleased to get back on the road to Ahmedabad (via Jodphur) tomorrow since it's felt a bit contrived here. The desert is astounding by the way though it might have something to do with the lack of rickshaw drivers.
A week in India and I feel like no other country would have shoved so many characteristics in my face in the same amount of time. Will save some more liberal generalisations for another time. Pleased to be on the move though as I want to tick off some wildlife at Sasan Gir - reputedly home to the last wild Asiatic lions but will probably end up on Sparrow Safari instead. What's happening in the real world?
ps - Carlos Tevez is rubbis..What? Oh.
