Gonna head for Durban today. After we've awoken from our slumber, we religiously made our way to Greens for our breakfast. Of course we didn't waste time coming back for luggage by preparing them well beforehand last time.
We found a parking lot in no time and had a wonderful breakfast, after which we set off for the airport using our newly exchanged GPS which finally worked normally. Everything was proceedingly smoothly and we will reach the airport with time to spare for car returning and checking....and so we thought. I left my sling bag in the restaurant!! Inside were some documents and money etc! F**k! f*******K! Kan sianzzzz!
Tong reacted instantaneously by exiting the highway when he spotted a U-Turn possible and 140-ed in our Sparky back to Cape TOwn! Kudos to Tonga for the calm and calculated response when I was a little lost. Zoomed past all the cars in our sight and reached the restaurant in a flash! Grabbed my bag which the staffs kept in case I returned for it, grateful for their honesty! And off I jumped into the car and Tonga sped off for the Airport once again! Less than an hour before take off to go and there's still the car to return and the flight to check into!
We decided to divide and conquer, Tong will grab my bag and go check in while I hold on to his pack, which doesn't need to be checked in, and go return the car. The plan worked well. I returned the car to Hertz w/o much trouble and rushed to Tong's side at the check in counter. Checked in and was told the flight was delayed =_=. Just as well.
We went to collect our match tickets and walked around until it was time to go in. Mango Airlines was our budget carrier for this trip. We boarded a Reddish Orange plane and were on our way!
And so we reached Durban in the whole new King Shaka Airport. Had a late luch at Spurs where just nice there was a 1-for-1 burger promo that day. After satisfing our hunger, we made our way to the car rentals to collect our car from Tempest Car Hire. Just a little info for you guys out there who intend to rent cars, the whole procedure of renting the car and GPS takes bloody long and so plan time for it! Finally we got the keys to our Orange little Kia Picanto and made our way to our Guesthouse, Numbernineteen. When we reached, a plump black lady, Nochacha(according to Tong) welcomed us warmly.
The place was huge and the deco and furnishings were really Atas! we were given the top room which we can see the Moses Mabhida Stadium! Shioks! The doors were all glass and totally see thru! Kinky! LOL! We lazed around for a while and settled down before heading out to check out the city.
We hit the coastal area where the winds were ridiculously strong and cold, despite boasting to be the warmest place in SA at this time. Walked along the breakwaters and saw some people playing beach soccer and artistic hand-made sand-made artworks. Continued walking and found a shop selling all the soccer stuffs, vuvuzelas, jereys etc. But no Spain Jerseys, in the end I realised it was sold out all over SA. We guessed the stuffs were slightly overpriced so we didn't bother to get any from there. Further up was the Fan Fest Park but it was closed, opens only on match days I think.
Had dinner and headed back home. Best thing about this guesthouse is that they have a computer for you to surf net! Tong needed it most though to save on his hp bills!! hohoho. I went back to the room and had bubble bath! The bathtub was really humongous. It can fit the whole of me without me having to bend my legs and body much. Shiooooks!
Looking forward to the next couple of days!
