2/21/2011 - So much to do and so little time and didn't really know where to start. While Michelle got ready, I took a walk out to get us some Starbucks. The nearest open Starbucks was a few blocks away and it was a real neat area called Brickell Square which was very similar to Coconut Grove. There were a ton of restaurants to check out and definitely wanted to check them out either that night or the next. In the meantime, we got in the car and tookoff towards our first destination, South Beach. The drive down MacArthur Parkway leading to the beach was the same road in which most famous TV and movie scenes from Miami (probably CSI) are filmed. Million dollar mansions on our left and Biscayne Bay on our right with high-rise condos. The beach itself was fairly crowded but we found a place to lie out and enjoy some rays next to some rather self-assured ladies who did not mind sunbathing topless for all to see. We then took a walk down the beach and around the area to do some out-of-the-way exploring. It was amazing how one area of South Beach is so wealthy and others are quite impoverished. We made our way back to the main strip and found a sushi restaurant for dinner. We learned that the ceviche with tuna was not as appetizing as it sounds and that practically everyone in Miami is gorgeous…not a single ugly person…not even the homeless.
