We've been really lazy - eating lots of chocolate, plus we went to see Sherlock Holmes!
Monday night we went into Sydney to see the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra at the Opera House. It was amazing. They played some classics, like the Blue Danube. There were opera singers (I loved it, Ben not so much) and a brilliant violinist. She played a tune by Sarasate - it was absolutely flawless. Her glissandos were amazing. Even better - bagpipes came on for Amazing Grace! Quality!
This morning was a bit of a nightmare - the bus timetables had changed and I'd misunderstood the timetable so, subsequently, we missed our tour bus.
Having been up since 5am, we headed back home to change into lighter clothing (it was one of the hottest days yet) & came back in to meet the Welsh boys from Beachcomber.
We spent the day with Hugh, Chippy, Gareth and a couple of their friends, also from the valleys. They were all smashing. We wandered round the city in sun and headed up the Harbour Bridge Pylon - a hefty walk, but fun nonetheless and at $9.95 a head a bargain! It was pretty interesting - they had a "museum" like section with info on the steelwork & history, plus we had a good laugh. Good times.
Ani's Travel Tips: Part 2 Section 3 Paragraph 2: $280 to climb the bridge, $9.95 to get up the plyon - why not?
