This morning I TRIED to wake up early, but it just didn't happen.I set the alarm for 8, but I just kept hitting the snooze button for two hours - I was SO tired from yesterday, plus the new mattress was SO nice!I was trying to get up early because I need to some more work on the longitudinal task, the project that looks at the link between interferon and sarcoidosis.Interferon is used to treat hepatitis C and sarcoidosis is a systemic disease that causes lumps (granulomas) in the body, mainly the lungs.I had to do some more work on the statistics (BORING!) but it's looking good.I went to the French café again and got a few hours of work done there.I think I'm finally done with it now. When I was at the café, some annoying American lady kept talking to her computer so that EVERYONE could hear because her wireless wasn't working.I got so annoyed I finally helped her and she was finally quiet so I could work.So that got emailed off, hopefully for the final time and I headed off to lunch (breakfast at 1? I hadn't eaten).I met up with Sylvie, the lady from Belgium who runs the guest house, and Catriona and we grabbed a quick bite to eat at the Mediterranean café across the road. The food was good but the annoying group that kicked me out of my room last night was there, so we sat in a different room. The Greek salad was actually very good, and so was my omelet.Afterwards, I headed over to Oasis, which is next door to where I live to join the BBQ in session and share some photos from yesterday. It's a beautiful day today so I'm in shorts. It's very warm, though tomorrow the high temperature will be just above freezing so it'll be quite a dramatic change in just one night - I'll enjoy it while I can.
After a quick drink, I headed over to the Internet café to catch up since it's been several days of no blogs so here I am, now four hours later and just now catching up.Now it's time for my free pizza I earnt from the room switch last night.
See ya!
The pizza was good - rare here - and I haven't eaten much so I ate half. I decided to get an early night because I have my last interview for rural hospitals tomorrow morning. I'm also heading over to the CNCF office first thing in the morning to get my poster on hypertension translated.
I quickly stopped by the store this evening as well to pick up some chocolate so that when the street kids ask me for money I'll at least have something I can offer them that they'll like. Chocolate actually is the only thing that makes sense, even though it's not that healthy. They love it, it's food (which they desperately need) with carbs, fat, protein, etc, it's individually wrapped, and small. The kids actually get a bigger smile with chocolate than with money donations. So I've stocked up my jacket with spare chocolate to have on hand, a mix of Kinder bars and KitKats.
so...... g'night!
