After Fraser Island we had two nights back in Rainbow Beach before we moved on again. We really didnt do much in these two days, so this blog is only a short one. This was mainly because the weather was horrible (raining constantly) and because we needed to catch up on some sleep.
When we got back we managed to have a couple of drinks in the evening before hitting the hay, well three of us did at least. Joe was ill and had tonsiles the size of tennis balls.
When back at Rainbow Beach, Koo was turning the grand old age of 25, a quarter of a centruy. To celebrate we had a chinese takeaway one evening (thank you Koo!!) and had some birthday cake which we had bought earlier on in the day. After we ate dinner I kept Koo occupied outside while Belle snuck back to the room to get the birthday cake. We had also bought some indoor (so we thought) sparklers in the day and Belle arranged these nicely in the shape of a 25 on top of the cake. However before she could get all of them lit the amount of smoke that was pouring off the top of the cake set the fire alarms off in our dorm. Luckily for us (and worringly in a way) no one from the hostel seemed to mind the fire alarm going off and didnt come to investigate what the comotion was. After this mishap Belle abandoned lighting the rest of sparklers in the dorm and bought the cake outside as it was. We lit the rest of the sparklers outside and spelt our names out with them, like it was bonfire night.
We wanted to check Rainbow Beach out at least once during our stay there but the rain was so heavy and that persistant that we never actually got the chance. We had visited the town of Rainbow beach but never managed the beach itself.
