DAY 7

Today was spent travelling to toronto on the longest bus ride ever, ok it was only 5 hours but it felt like FOREVER! once we got there we headed straight for the hostel and again decided to be the awkward guests we used to hate at the Y. we wanted to upgrade to a private room! we managed to get it for the first night and last 2 nights but the 2nd one we had to switch to a dorm. we chilled out in our room for a bit rolling in luxury, we had a tv and dvd player lol. we headed to the hard rock cafe for dinner and had an early night.

DAY 8

This was probably our busiest day of our holiday so far. we brought a city pass before we left banff which got us into all the main city attractions so the plan for 2day was to hit as many as possible. before that though we headed to fort york. the battlefied which forms the origin of toronto. a war was waged between the brits and the yanks to see who was strong enough to conquer canada (of course we won lol). there were a few of the original buildings left and there was little informative displays on the way round. it was pretty cool, untill it started to pee with rain!!

we made our way to the harbour front next which was smaller than i expected! the view wasnt that great cause it was STILL raining. still pretty though. next stop was the first on our list on the city pass, the CN tower. its the tallest observation tower in the world! suze is scared of heights so she was a bit apprehensive about going up but she did it. the elevator that takes u up has glass panels on the floor and u can look out as u go up which was pretty cool! once we hit the observation tower u cldnt really see much. ur probably thinking we chose a pants day to do it but the weather forecast was the same for all weekend so we figured we get it over with for suzes sake lol. understandably she didnt want to go to the very top deck so i went up on my own. the view was much the same, grey, cloudy with very little to see but hey at least now i can say i've been on the world tallest observation tower!

The hockey hall of fame was next on the agenda. y i agreed to go i have no idea i dont know the first thing about hockey and so didnt recognise any of the people in the museum. luckily we werent in there long, just long enough to snap a few pics and buy a few souveniers. we could manage one more attraction before we had to go get ready for the theatre so we decided on the casa loma which is a big castle where an old famous guy lived (cant remember his name henry something i think). it was a pretty impressive building and the grounds were small but pretty. we wandered around a while, went up to the tower which was cool and went into some underground tunnels. we called a cab to take us back to the hostel but after about half an hour and no taxi we walked to the subway and caught the train. cause of bthe silly taxi we didnt think we'd have enough time to head back to the hostel and change before the show so after a quick dinner at swiss chalet we turned up to see sound of music in hoodies, winter jackets, dirty wet trousers and hiking boots. suffice to say we were the most underdressed ones there lol. the show though was amazing! the girl who played maria was the one who won the canadian version of the UK show how do u solve a problem like maria. she was a little OTT but still good and the children were adorable! i cant wait for broadway and the west end now, i love the theatre lol!

DAY 9

Today was the day we met up with dorothy, my old supervisor from the Y who left in march. we went to canadas wonderland (theme park). it made sound silly i went on loads of rides 2day i wldnt normally have gone on and i think its cause of rundle. ever since i hiked up that mountain i feel like i can do more things i cldnrt do before. there was one rollar coaster that still managed to freak me out cause of the nearly vertical drop but i went on most of the other scary rides. after spending a good few hours there we headed to the royal ontario museum (it was on our list of city attractions). it was a pretty good museum but i've been in better. i wanted to stop and read a lot of the exhibits, especially the ones in the life and biodiversity section but the others just kinda zoomed round taking pics so didnt have as much time as i wld have liked to take everything in. we went round some shops afterwards grabbed some food then said goodbye to doro for the 2nd time lol. shes thinking of maybe coming to niagra falls on monday which will be cool.

right now its halloween and i'm sitting in ma pjs watching scary movies in our room lol. not very cool but still fun lol.
