Arrived in Kaikoura at lunch time and have had a relaxing afternoon down by the sea front. I have generally had a lazy and relaxing day. Got up and took my time leaving hamner springs as it was such a lovely place and is just like centre parks but on a town scale and not as expensive to stay there!
I made the journey through stunning scenery along some vwery steep and winding roads. The views were worth it though.
Arrived at my final hostel of the trip and it is mediocre. Nothing outstanding but not grim either. Managed to get a free upgrade to a 4 bed dorm for the price of a 6 due to renovations being underway. There are not as many people in this place but thats alright as it means I can get an early night and just chill before heading back to the Buyers household tomorrow the eve before a certain somebodies 10th birthday that he has not menetioned at all - NOT!
I am planning on walking along the penisula tomorrow morning before making my way back, in the hope that I will get to see some seals. I live in hope! Kaijoura is a nice little seaside town with a few shops and a lovely stoney beach, which made it fun to attempt to skim stones into the sea. I was unsuccessful and just ended up throwing the stones in. Also managed to treat myself to a magazine and some fresh bread - simple things in life please me.
Have avoided going for a run today due to my back and knee still playing up. Really hoping that it sorts itself out soon. I count doing all the walking as part of the training though so atleast I am doing that.
Will sign off now and enjoy the rest of the sun before it sets.
