Made the trip from Invercargil to Queenstown at 6am in order to make it in time to go snowboarding. It was a lovely journey with pretty stars and a fight with a fuel pump on the way.
I managed to make it into queenstown and get to the snow centre in time to get my tickets and catch the bus up to the Remarkables - which are remarkable. I literally had to run through rentals and grab my gear in order to make my 10:20 lesson.
I then spent the day falling over, discovering muscles I didn't know I had and eventually learning how to snowboard down the beginners hill! It was an ace day and we had clear skies and sun all day. I managed to avoid sun burn, which was a bonus.
After a tiring day snowboarding I made my way to my accommodation and to say it was grim is being polite. If it wasn't so cold out I would have slept in the car. However I did go to bed for 8 and sleep due to my 5am start and long and tiring days activities.
I went into town briefly and got to enjoy watching some guy make an idiot of himself doing pump areobics on a stage by the lake for winterfest that is on there at the moment. I also managed to buy me some sweets from an old sweet shop. They were yummy.
A fairly busy day by all means and glad that it was being followed by a drive to Fox's Glacier in the morning. Will sign off.
