8:42 amrnrnClass is about to start and im very anxious. i will write after class all about the amazing day yesterday but for now im going to wait nervously for this horror to begin.rnrn10:27amrnrnPiangere (that means "to cry")...thats what im trying not to do. i am way in over my head and am embarassed and freaking out. everyone knows im the worst one here. i really want to succeed at this, especially after the worst semester ever...but i just sat here in class contemplating running out of the room and how to do it with the least disturbance. we are on a 20 minute break and already have had an in depth discussion about the meaning of liberty, how free we consider ourselves, read a metaphorical article about a fish in a jar, and written a poem (which we had to share with the class...out loud.) about liberty. i look extremely uneducated and really just wanted to run away. i dont know how im going to get through this class much less the entire term. oh! and the italian dept. apparently needs to speak to me...awesome. and now its raining......this day has become increasingly depressing. im going to have to call one of my friends today. dont want to call mom because she will worry, brandon will just be sympathetic (like a good person)...so will sarah....im at an impass right now and im so mad that i dont have a perfect attitude because i have no reason to waste one day of a great opportunity. this is the first time i have ever been the weakest at anything ive tried and i hate it. the world map in our classroom is not helping my mood. texas is so far away...another world.rnrn2 pmrnrn****no more complaining*****rnrnim at the API office uploading pictures to my blog and sending emails....so yesterday: rnrnwe met at Saint Marco at 2pm and hopped on a bus to the stadium. the game was amazing. the other teams fans, sampadoria, had to sit in a cage basically and every single person had a huge flag....the fans are out of control! in the distance behind the stands you see beautiful tuscan hillsides and villas. fans sing and jump and when we won Fiorentina takes a huge flag with the fleur-de-leis (the sign of florence) all around the field and then jump into the crazy people stands and then they all sang more...."o fiorentina..." the game was so rainy and we bought really nerdy ponchs to keep us pseudo dry. after the game we rode the bus back to san marco and walked home. we met cristen and her roomates (later) at the House of Sizzle (across the street from our apt.) and had burgers and fries....and ranch dressing. the guy who works there, francesco, told us an acoustic band was playing at the red garter next door later so we went home for a bit then came back. the band was two guys who play american covers. we sat at a back table and then this creepy italian guy sat at a table next to us and just stared....stared. for about 20 minutes straight at first...and we just started laughing out loud...and....he didnt stop for at least over an hour....ridiculous. we all went home and then just crashed...a great day!!
