Well we survived the boat trip from Pto. Montt to Pto. Natales. It was amazing scenery all the way down, no whales though unfortunately :-(
Got off to a late start the boat left about 5hrs behind schedule so we had a whole day to kill in town. Being Good Friday absolutely nothing was open except ..... a pool hall yay. Unfortunately for me games played with other people don´t count in the World Tournament so the Chile leg stands at Bondy:5 Bec:3

So the boat, first impressions were not to impressive, from the shore it looked like it had more rust then Lizzy!! and because it was now officially the low season we had been shunted down to a boat about half the size of the usual one. This may have been a blessing as it meant there were no livestock onboard.
Along with Guliano and T-Bo, we spent most of our time with a very precise German; Michael, Pete from the UK and Alex, the biggest space cadet EVER (also from the UK), playing cards, drinking and blowing about in the crazy Patagonian Wind.
The majority of the voyage was spent in the calm glacial channels, however on our second night a heavy fog set in which forced us out into the open water of the Pacific. They had warned us about the rough ride but you are never prepared enough when you are suddenly pitched from one side of your bed to the other then from the top to the bottom within about 3 seconds. Luckily none of us were seasick, a bit queasy but that was more likely the food. By breakfast we were back into calmer waters.
The wind picked on the last day as we were nearing Puerto Natales, to the point where if you were standing on the deck and jumped straight up in the air you would move about a foot in the direction the wind was blowing.
Arriving that afternoon in Puerto Natales we were treated to an awesome sunset over Torres del Paine National and an extra few hours on the boat as the wind was blowing too strongly to allow us to pull into port.
Tomorrow we will begin preperations for our 5 day hike into the national park. I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
