The anticipation builds as I'm on my way to the Great Wall at Jingshalang... This is possibly going to be a top 3 highlight of the 6 weeks so hoping I am not peaking too soon!
Met some others at the hostel last night who will be doing the train with me, Ben, Ross, Heidi and Dan and went and grabbed some dinner at one of the local markets. Had some noodles, steamed pork dumplings and scorpion - yep it was a baby one and deep fried so just tasted like eating oil but can still say I ate it!
Had an early night as had to get up early this morning for the Wall. Meeting the rest of the group for the trip tonight, and hopefully head for Peking duck for dinner. When i got picked up for the Wall this morning I got handed a Maccas bag for breakfast with a terrible coffee and a sausage and cabbage muffin - since when did cabbage substitute for egg?
Typing this is getting more difficult as the already questionable driving skills of my driver are being pushed to the limit by declining road quality as we get further out of Beijing. Not so much enjoying the views of driving head on into a semi - eeekk... Side window, side window, distract yourself with the mountains and donkeys Beau.
Update again from Wall...
Peace out
