Off Exploring
Well, today is our last day here. I still don't want to go home. We did manage to squeeze in one more day of fun though. It started with the coffee and chocolate tour which I have been looking forward to. It was the very first tour I booked and the whole reason we spent two nights in San Jose. We did the Britt Cafe coffee tour. It was pretty good. It was fairly entertaining and it included transportation and a buffet style lunch. We stocked up on 2 bags of coffee and got some chocolate to bring home.
After the coffee tour we decided to explore San Jose a bit. While we don't love San Jose we do like it a lot more than we liked Jaco, so we're happy to be here right now. We took a taxi downtown and after about 20 minutes we were feeling overwhelmed and were ready to explore elsewhere. San Jose is a massive city. It's very sprawled out and no matter where you go there are so many people and cars. Since we didn't have a game plan we had no idea where to go so we just walked around a bit. It wasn't bad but it is really overstimulating. We took a cab to a Brazilian restaurant near the hotel that we decided to try. We've only been to one Brazilian restaurant in the states and it was way too salty. We had guessed that the one here wouldn't be too salty and we were right, it definitely wasn't. They didn't speak any English and they definitely tested my Spanish. I've been doing fine with my Spanish but they asked a lot of questions. It went fine though. We like our meat medium rare and it was definitely more on the well done side so it was drier than we like but not bad. We've decided that we're just not Brazilian steakhouse kind of people. We'll never get our moneys worth.
After dinner we walked the few blocks back to the hotel. We keep wanting to swim because there's a beautiful pool here but whenever we get the chance it's just too cold. The sun is setting so we'll probably just spend the rest of the evening relaxing in the room and then we'll have an early bedtime. Tomorrow will be a long day of sitting around at the airport and then the flight. Luckily the flight is only 3 hours. Then we'll have a 1.5 hour drive home from Orlando. We decided to fly out of there because they have nonstop flights. Tampa had a layover for a few hours and we decided we'd rather just do a nonstop flight and then drive. Then it's back to real life...
