So who thought that a Walmart parking lot would be a vacation destination? Well, it was our first night on our trip to cut the trip to Hershey Park in half, and, well, I will never look at a big box store parking lot in quite the same way. We pulled into the area behind the garden center where the RV app comment suggested, but no RVs were parked there. There was one fellow hanging out with a shopping cart who looked like he could be sleeping there for the night without any camper...just what he had in the cart. Julie decided we best check with the store manager. He directed us to the north side of the parking lot where we saw two other trailers already parked. This was the place! We nestled in behind a fifth wheeler and a car that was apparently being used as a storage shed, as it was filled with all sorts of junk to the ceiling including the driver seat area. Clearly nobody was planning to drive it. Despite the somewhat sketchy guy with the shopping cart and the car/shed, we had a good night sleep...and all at no charge. A quick walk in the morning to the Red Diner for some tasty breakfast, and we were ready to head out to Hershey!
