Bahram's World Tour 2006
Well after a 20hr bus ride and a control check at 4am in the morning with sniffer dogs coming on board (no I didn't have any drugs mum, don't worry) I arrived in Buenos Airies.
The first thing that hit me was that it was so bloody cheap. Getting a metro from the bus station to my hostel cost me 12 pence.
BA doesn't have many tourist attractions, hence from the titles of my photos simply saying `a statue.' However, the nightlife certainly made up for it. People don't go out until 2am, and I was dancing at a nightclub called Oprah Bay, to some drum and bass with some friends, located on the docks, watching the sun rise come up at 6am. The Argentineans do know how to party and the 5 days I spent there proved that.
Tried to get to a Boca Juniors game but it was sold out once we got there, although we did try to get into the away supporters end which probably would have been suicidal had we got tickets. Instead we went to St Terlmo to watch some tango dancing in the square and a big steak dinner with all the trimmings for less than 2 pounds.
The food and alcohol in this country is unbelievably cheap with a buffet lunch or dinner for 3 pounds, all you can eat steak and all the rest, and a beer but not just any old beer but a litre of it for a pound, also went a long way to help the budget side of things.
Overall BA was cool for it's nightlife and the people were very friendly also slowly starting to pick up some spanish.
Next stop Peru and Lima...
