A trip to the zoo was the plan for today, so rucksack packed and an interrogating of the receptionist to find which of the local ones was worth visiting. The best was 50 miles away through the French countryside, but as usual the tractor and church sightings kept the little one entertained.
Ruby wanted to see a Giraffe and George a "Liger" (Tiger).
Parc Cerza turned out to be a great find, from the start (immediate stop for jumbo hotdogs for hungry twins) we saw zebra, Rino and a Giraffe. Yeh.
A short walk later and we were in the tropical house looking at all manner of George's favourite thing, Crocodiles. Was this day going to get any better? Well yes, as just outside was an entire enclosure of free roaming baby goats, all of which George seemed to own "MY baby Goat!", but all of which seemed to love the attention from George, Ruby and all the other children.
A ride on the zoo's train was next, this was even better, as it soon wound it's way next to the tiger enclosure with an excellent view of the tigers, then Gazelle, deer, lions, and then as it was almost back to the start the largest of the Giraffe was leaning right across the train to reach the trees across the track, meaning we passed within inches of it.
More Goat petting followed with close ups of Lion cubs, Monkeys and various other furry delights followed (and another ride on the train) completing another fun day, and it only took 15 minutes to persuade zoo staff that these 2 monkeys belong to us.
