The last few days have been amazing (and mosquito ridden). Arrived at the campsite on Sunday and went for a little run up the very sandy lane and back. Then me and Kim thought we would like a bit more of a run so decided to do a few intervals down a track marked "Crocodile Farm" "Only enter with a Guide". Didn't think we were going far so chose to ignore the sign.... needless to say we ended up at the crocodile farm!! It was 5pm so no-one was around. There were 4 concrete enclosures absolutely teeming with crocodile starting with small ones in the first enclosure going up to middle-ish size ones. I have never seen so many of anything let alone crocodiles in one enclosure. Then we realised on the other side of our lane was a grassed area with really big crocs in it. There were only kept in with chicken wire. They were so big and very ugly. We were just half a metre from them. Then we heard a door creek open so legged it as fast as we could (good interval stuff). When we were comfortable we were far enough away we walked a little (recovery I think it's called) chatting and giggling about our close shave. Then we heard something in the bushes next to us, I turned and saw and enormous buffalo just standing there. I didn't realise Kim could run so fast and she didn't give me a second thought as she sped off up the track. We were back at camp within seconds. There are just great big animals every where in Africa. Just mooching about , amazing.

Yvonne Anne, I swear you have a death wish or do not want to return to the UK!!!! You seem intent on courting with danger - only tourists would dream of doing some of the things you are - be careful on your own in the bush!!!! I can here you say "yeh, yeh, yeh, shut up Yvonne", am I right? Anyway was a little worried as last post was about the dug out canoe with crocs and hippos - eeeeeeeek - then nothing for a while - had awful visions of you becoming a tasty snack! Anyway nagging over - brilliant you are enjoying yourself and the above is a bit like a scene out of that really old James Bond movie with all the crocs. Also great that you have obviously made pals with folk over there (apart from the crocs). We are having good weather here probably not as hot as over there and I guess you are getting quite a tan and can't wait to be back.....! If you get some imperial mints and see any warthogs - from previous experience they will do cartwheels for mints! Have fun and glad your survivied your dug out canoe experience! Yvonne

Helen Hi Anne Glad to see you are keeping up with your running... By the sound of things , it could come in very handy at times. Try to stay in one peace though... having an arm missing will not get you excused from the Emsworth relay. Glad you,re having fun.
sarah.wade Anne What is it with you and danger!! your bloody nuts but then that something we already knew, cant help laughing imagining your face when you saw the crocs all around and the buffalo!!! bet you felt like crocodile dundee lol. Take care miss you loads but please remember to read the signs and remember its Africa and not Gammon Close !!!! lol
Ian Hi Anne, Well, what a shock it must have been to find crocodiles on a crocodile farm! Poor things, I presume they are destined a few brief moments of fame in a Prada shop window? I’ve always told you that running is not good for you; I now rest my case. We’re looking forward to seeing Katie later today and we’re as glad as ever to hear you’re very much alive......if OK with you, I may not relay this entry to Mother & Father; although – brace yourself, Mother is only days from being on-line!! Best wishes and love, Ian x
Leo Ha! Anne. I'm lost for words at the moment !! Got to go and serve customers in the shop. They're not quite as dangerous, but you know what I mean!! Lol. Leo. Confident Kids Toys.
Sarah Matthews Don't tell Gary and Tim but imagining they were crocs was what helped me run the last handicap so fast! Sounds like you are having a fab time. Love the blogs.
Ann Carty WOW! Don't let the Wednesday night trainers get to hear about this added insentive that you've found to make you run faster, it might give them ideas! Whoops, Yvonne already knows! TAKE CARE where YOU mouch, but so glad you're enjoying everything so much! Ann x
Lesley Evans What a great adventure. I bet you never thought speedwork could be so inspired!! Lets just hope Liss don't get any funny ideas on a Wednesday night. Glad you are thoroughly enjoing yourself and it is great to hear of your adventures. Keep em comming. Lesley x x
Laurie Spicer Hi Anne, wow... sounds exciting! I am sure you were glad that you are fit enough to run that fast. All well here. Katie stopped by yesterday on her way up to Oxford. It was lovely to see her and have a chat. Milly loved playing with her and was so excited about her visit. Had a big scare with Munchie on Monday. He had colic and nearly didnt come out of it. I had to lunge him every 2 hours into the night and luckily it sorted the problem. Very scary.. the thought of having to put him down as well was horrible. Nevertheless, he is fine now! Ian has surprised me with a romantic weekend away. He has booked a lovely spa hotel in Winchester. We are both looking forward to getting away and having some quiet time. Milly will spend the weekend with Carol and Adrian and she is very excited! Glad to hear you are well.. spoke to your mum and dad and they are well too. They are still trying to get "online" but should be there in a few days. Lots of love to you. We love to read your blogs. xx take care Laurie
