We've decided that Khao Lak has been the most relaxing part of our trip. Staying at the place we are at has definitely been a big part of that. But the area is just so nice and the beach is one of the best we've been on.
The last few days we've spent by the pool or the ocean, lounging, swimming, reading and soaking up as much sun as we can before we leave the south. As far as our illness goes...we're all good now, except Ive now got a cold. Super sore throat, stuffiness and foggy head. Really hoping it clears up before the flight back.
We visited the school on Thursday. Spent some time with the Principal and an American teacher. Got to play around with some of the kids, who loved my camera. There was one boy who Paige had taught how to use her camera, so he was all over mine, running around taking snapshots of the classroom and kids. There was a really cute group of girls who loved attention and were giddy and testing out there english with Mike and I.
Yesterday we did a mini elephant trek. That was interesting. They took us up a really steep hill and Mike and I were afraid the elephant would slide and we'd fall off or something. We were so high up and on one side it was just straight down. It was kinda scary! As soon as we were done with the hills we were fine though. We even got sneezed on. yay. hehe...it was nasty!
So the last few days we will be just taking it easy. We decided against the Similan Island tour because it is pretty expensive, plus, I doubt I'd enjoy it as much with the way Ive been feeling. We'll get to do it some other time. We definitely plan on coming back here.
In 2 more days we will be back in Bangkok. Not excited. We are actually really sad to be leaving down here and are dreading the last few days we will be spending in Bangkok. Shopping will be fun but other than that we could skip it.
Off for a swim now!
