sat 4th- well i didnt make it to bed after the friday nite, satyed up chattin with ppl and playin the usual table tennis and by the time debbie came back it was nearly 3 so i stayed up till 6 to get the bus...i had gone passed the sleeping allownace time, meaning i would have missed my bus if i went to bed! managed to misplace my sandal during the night, have no f***in idea where it went but hey-ho its nowt major! the day was promodominately driving towards lakes entrance, but there was a quick stop for a walk in the rain. there was also a quick stop to overlook the tasman sea. bought booze and headed over to the YHA and tea. there was some frisbee prior to tea but after that it was the normal boozing and chattin away. the bus had a nice mix of ppl, but got on best with jen (my seat buddy!) frankie, james and graeme after the first night. jen and james are at the start of their travels so i was like a lil tour guide for em!
sun 5th- today was a short driving day towards jundabire (or summit like that!) and the snowy mountains, so we drove till 12, had some lunch and made it onto the piste for general fun. we could hire equipment out if we wanted but i decided to wait till i get to nz instead. so we watched the coke cola 'jump for cash' which basically had loads of ppl jumping into ice cold water from a ramp. it was pretty serious at first and then there was the fancy dress and contraptions to come- very f***in funny but my feet got cold in the converse! there was a brief lull before me n graeme went sledging till it was time to go at 4. back to the hostel, which was also a hotel so there was a sauna and heated pool (delightful!), cook ur own steak for tea and then more boozing. it started in the bar but went back to the room for cheapness and ring of fire- we even had our very own judge and jury ( terry- who is 12!) there was much goon and beer drank and we all had fun. there maj of ppl left after the first round, but the english stayed true and our room (jen, james, graeme, frankie and chris) stayed up late! all ROF needs a little sober judge to keep an eye on ppl and it was a laugh- he'll be a legend back home now!
mon 6th- the morning was a tad ropey but the all u can eat full brekkie hit the stop no doubt! firstly onto canberra to see the parliament house etc- pretty impressive and the decor was amazing if not a touch decadent- but i reckon they wanted it that way. then after canberra it was the final stretch on my oz experince pass to sydney. we arrived there at 7, and after a quick think i decided to stay with frankie, jen n james for the few days they were there to make things a bit easier. plus it meabnt i started and finished in BASE! a quick greg made tea and then it was off to cheers for a few beer and watch the rerun of the charity shield -well done Edwin!
