Very early morning heading out to airport. Raining moderately to heavily. At airport ticket office (1km walk from airport) was told no flight today. Weather forecast bad for tomorrow. What now? Stay? Go? Where? Bus to khorog? Finally decide to fly to bishkek. Whilst getting money changed tickt price raises by $50. Got ticket. Back to same hotel. Try to get money, all atm's dry. Internet search for guest houses in bishkek. Now beautiful sunny weather, forecast gre...

Up early to be first at embassy. Rainy today. Get told that today is kyrgyz national holiday and consul would come just for me (...) but later. Also fee would be double. Later consul and her husband welcome me to embassy. Nice talk. Visa issued on the spot but double charged (half in her pocket i'm sure). Went to swiss embassy to enquire about border crossings. Their info and what i get from internet sounds rather unpleasant regarding crossing from isfara to bakt...

Ordinary breakfast. Went to find kyrgyz embassy, closed on wed. Told to come back tomorrow. Walk around town. Nice treelined main drag with shops and cafes along. Beautiful weather. Nothing of note.

Earlyish morning. Breakie. Got cab to shared taxi stand heading to denau and grentia to tajikistan. Luckily didn't have to wait long at all. Stunningly beautiful trip over passes and through valleys and plains, semi desert and lush green fields and treelined streets.
