Woke up 2am with horrible diarrhea. Spent the night in bathroom. Sunny day, surely there's a flight to khorog today. Nevermind. Head out to airport. Customs officer asked seriously whether he could keep some of my dollars. Kidding me? Ordinary waiting area slash departure lounge. Awesome flight in scary old russian propeller plane, no aircon and windows held together by some sort of rope. Pumpy ride and scary but safe landing. Average guest house with over-average welcoming owners. Still stuffed up gi system. Walk around town, very nice parks, usual russian architecture. Clean shiny bathrooms at hyatt... Just next door, went to opera house where some ballet performance was already on the way. Half empty hall. Great performance, although ballet isnt really my thing. Program promises great shows over the next few days.
