OK, so i'm in Vienna right now... and i couldnt write anything when i was in venice cuy the computer was a piece of s***! haha but let me tell you a little bit about it...
OMG! Venice was amazing!!!! tellement beau... sauf 90% des gens etaient des vrais trous de cul (tient moman, une bonne phrase francaise! haha). ca doit etre parce quils en ont mare des touristes. but I can honestly say its my favorite city so far.
the first day, we headed to san marco square. we saw doge's palace (which is all the legislative stuff in the 1400s). underneath the palace is an old jail! that was really cool to see... so many people must have suffered there. i kinda had a creepy feeling in my stomach walking through in and out of the cells. after that, we paid 8 euros to go to the top of a tower :S but it was totally worth it. the panoramic view of the city was beautiful. we also saw saint marks basilica. and the cherry on top of a wonderful day, we went for a gondola ride through the canals of venice. ok so it cost us 40 euros each (yup, thats the price ladies and gents) but it was worth every penny and ill never forget it.
the second day we visited the peggy guggenheim art collection. it was this crazy old lady that collected all these famous paintings (must have been one rich lady). i even saw a couple paintings by picasso (la baignade) and one from salvador dali (la naissance des desirs liquides)! that was really fun! and something different after a week of seeing greek and roman statues haha. after that, we headed to the musei di piazza. and then we window shopped through the manv streets of venice until the OPERA! wow! when that man and woman started signing, i almost started crying. they took my breath away. they did la traviata along with other opera songs i recognize but forget the name (dont worry i wrote them down somewhere! haha). the orchestra was also amazing.
on the third day, we headed to murano island. its there they make those famous glass statues and jewlery. we saw a demonstration at a glass factory. this man made a super amazing sculpture in like 5 minutes. after that, we went the the glass museum. and of course, i just had to buy myself a glass ring shaped like a rose. its really beautiful and a great souvenir of venice. in the afternoon, we went the the museum of contemporary art and saw more great modern art. Gustav Klimt's 'Judith II' was there!
MY GOD I LOVED Venice... lets see what Vienna can bring.
love hearing from you,
Ariane xo
