So yesterday was basically a bust. We started off our day doing laundry in machines that didn't actually work. We didn't realize at first that the machines didn't effectively wash or dry clothing until about two and a hallf or three hours had been wasted. At the end of it all our clothes weren't even dry. Needless to say we were both pretty upset. I went to the reception and asked for our money back. The guy working only wanted to give us another token for laundry but I told him I knew he could do better and that if he didn't have the authority that he should call his manager. We didn't get the 9 euros back but we got half. I should have insisted that we get the whole amount but I was kinda surprised that it worked.
Okay, So now it was time to go get our train tickets. Custumer service for trainitalia sucked. They were rude with everyone and then we got passed off to another worker because the first one said he didn't understand. Okay fair enough. But the two next guys did. The first one had been helping a couple for 15 mins and there were no miscommunications. But he passed us off to a third guy. All we wanted was some information but they kept on telling us to go buy the tickets. LISTEN WHEN PEOPLE ARE TALKING TO YOU THAT'S WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABOUT a******. So then he was being a douche and decided that he wasn't going to help us with the italian pamphlet so I threw it back at him. Not my classiest I must admit but you aren't going to treat me like s*** then expect to be respected. f*** no.
Then Ariane and I were supper trying to get pumped about the rest of the day. The museums we had decided to visit would be absolutely AMAZING and worth it. But that isn't how the day played out. Instead the numbers in our Roma pass booklet and in the Roma pass map didn't correspond. So we were in the complete wrong end of town. Why have numbers if they don't go together?
At least we saw these cute little bike buggy type things and we rode around a beautiful park in one of those for an hour. I am pretty sure Ariane was afraid for her life as well as for the life of pedestrians when I was driving ahha but I assure you my driving was fine.
We also went to the Piazza dell Popolo. There were some beautiful statues and much like the rest of Roma there was a beautiful fountain.
Considering the day we had we splurged on dinner (aka getting a dessert. mmm)
So today is a travel day. Kinda relaxing for a few hours at least ;)

Kate Bah! That must have been so frustrating when all you really wanted was to be clean. Maybe the universe is telling you that being dirty is okay? lol Miss you!

Amanda S. Darn those Italians!! I remember when I got my 5-day train pass, the woman who sold it to me gave me the dirtiest look because my full name is soooo Italian but I was speaking entirely in English. It was kind of funny after. haha But damn, how rude of those ones! I'm glad you saw the fountains, definitely my fave part of Italy! I hope your other days in Rome were pleasant!!
