Buenos Dias,

Een korte update. Het is hier nu half acht in de ochtend en ik moet me zo klaar maken voor school. Hier moet ik om 9:30 zijn. Gelukkig niet heel vroeg want het leven gaat hier tot later door dan wij thuis gewend zijn. Zo eten we hier pas rond een uurtje of 10 en dan zijn we volgens mij nog redelijk op tijd. Maar daardoor heb ik smiddags voldoende tijd om na school de stad te bezichtigen.

Nou wat heb ik zoal gedaan de afgelopen dagen. Zondag ben ik naar San Telmo geweest. Dit is een gezellige wijk met veel cafeetjes en restaurantjes. Op zondag hebben ze hier een markt. Heel gezellig, heel toeristisch...maar ja ik ben dan ook toerist. Verder heb ik 's avonds beter kennis gemaakt met mijn NL huisgenootje.

Maandag was mijn eerste schooldat. De hele les gaat in het spaans, dus dat is best intensief. Maar het gaat tot nu toe redelijk, Ik deel mijn klas met 1 meisje. Zij is Japans. Zij is haar man achterna gekomen naar BsAs. Dus helaas heb ik hier niet zoveel aan voor het contact buiten de les om. Voor haar is het geen vakantie en zij gaat gelijk na school naar huis.

Maar op de talenschool stikt het van de Nederlanders, een sloveens meisje een braziliaanse jong. Dus kortom ik heb inmiddels al wat nieuwe 'vrienden'gemaakt. Maandag middag ben ik met mijn huisgenootje naar Palermo gegaan. Dit is een van de rijkere wijken van de stad. Hier hebben ze dan ook erg veel parken. We zijn in een van deze parken geweest. Maar foto's hiervan moeten wachten omdat we beide geen camera mee hadden. En het regende. Uiteraard wil ik jullie alleen maar foto's met mooi weer laten zien :P

Gisteren zijn we na school met een hele groep wezen lunchen. Langzaam vielen er steeds meer af tot we met z'n 4en overbleven en naar Recolata zijn geweest. Hier is een kerkhof met de graven van de rijke en bekende Argentijnen. Hier ligt Eva Peron - Duarte ook begraven. We wisten allemaal dat ze niet een heel imposant graf heeft (bij graf lees tempel achtig bouwwerk) maar deze viel wel heel erg in het niet bij sommige bouwwerken. Wel triest er zijn doden die meer ruimte hebben dan menig levende argentijn...

Deze dag hebben we afgesloten met een hapje eten. Ik heb iets gehad waar ik nog niet precies van weet hoe het heet en wat het was. Maar het was echt super lekker. Dus met dat argentijnse eten komt het wel goed. En daarbij is het echt heel goedkoop. Met z'n 4en waren we 100 pesos kwijt. wat wil zeggen iets meer dan 20 euro.

De plannen: Vandaag gaan we een weekend Montevideo boeken. Dat is het plan voor a.s. weekend. Naar Uruguay en het strand bezoeken (dat hebben ze hier niet). En we willen het weekend daarna na de Igazu Falls. Deze liggen deels in Brazillie. Dus ik ga stempels verzamelen in mijn paspoort :)

Nou dit is het voor nu. Ik kijk nog even of ik met dit trage internet mijn foto's online krijg. En dan ga ik mij klaarmaken om naar school te gaan.

A short update. It is 7:30 in the morning and I almost have to prepair to go to school. School starts at 9:30. Happily it is not that early because the day here ends later then we are used to in the Netherlands. We eat dinner at ten. And than we are early for the Argentineans. But it is great, because we have a lot of time to explore the city after school.

Well what did I do the last couple of days: Sunday I went to San Telmo. This is a nice barrior with a lot of bars and restaurant. At sunday the have the street market. Nice, but very touristic....but I am a tourist. At the evening I had a nice chat with my Dutch Housemate.

Monday was my first day of school. Everything is in Spanish, so that is a bit exiting. But I think I do well. In my class there is just me and one other girl. A Japanes, she went here with her husband and she is going to live here for at least a year. Because it isn't holiday for her, she went home directly after school. So I do not have a lot of contact with her.

On the school there are a lot of dutch people. Also a Slovenian girl and a brazilian guy. So I already made some 'friends'. Monday after school I went to Palermo with Heleen (my housemate). This is one of the more rich parts of the city. In this barrior they have a lot of parcs. We went to one of those. But you have to wait for the pictures because I didn't bring my camera. And it was raining. And I will only show pictures with beatyfull weather :P

Yesterday we went for lunch with the most people from the school. During the afternoon the most left so we ended up with the four of us. We went to Recoleta. At Recoleta there is a cemetery with the graves of the rich and famous dead bodies of Argentina. Eva Peron - Duarte is barried here also. We know before that here grave was not that special. But is was so small (comparing to the others) we almost did not mention it. But it is sad to see that there are dead people who have space enough (too much) while there are a lot of people here living on the street.

We end this day with a dinner. I ate something I still don't know exactely what it is and how it is called. But is was real nice. So I think I will like the Argentinean kitchen. And it is real cheap comparing to the prices we know in Holland.

The planning: Today we are going to book a weeken Montevideo. We will go there next friday. To visit the city and go to the beach.They don't have it in BsAs. And the weekend after this one we will go to the Igazu falls, so we have to book a bus to go there. The Falls are on the border with Brasil and we want to see that part too. So I will collect stamps in my passport :)
