Hola,
Hola,
Just back from a weekend trip to Montevideo. Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay, This city is located at the sea. Comparing to BsAs they have beaches in Montevideo. The big reason of our trip.
We left BsAs on Fridaymorning. First I had to go by cab trough whole BsAs to get to the boat to Collonia. Collonia is a city with a historic centre at the coast from Uruguay. From here left our bus to Montevideo. Unfortunately we didn't know that we had to take the bus, otherwise we would like to stay a couple of hours to visit Collonia.
Our trip brings us only to Montevideo. This is almost 3 hoars by bus. During this trip we see mostly nature and sometimes a bit of the see. When we are almost arriving in Montevideo we see a lot of poor houses, only from garbage. But finally we see the real houses and the city begins.
Montevideo is not such a big city. Well I think there are living a couple of million people overthere. But it looks not that big. I think I already get use to the big and impressive city BsAs. After we found our Hostel and we locked our stuff our first visit to the beach is a fact.
On saturday we start bij walking trough the centre of Montevideo, where we visit a Market place with all kind of touristic stuff like clothes, jewelery and souveniers. After a great lunch at the seaside we are going to relax at the beach. I need to be a little brown when I get home in Februar :P
Saturday evening it was my first night out in Latin America. The music sounds real well. Nice and happy rythms wich make you dancing (or at least moving trying to dance). Almost everybody is dancing and... Flirting. This is a bit different than in Holland. Women are more outgoing and men are more direct. You don't hear me complain about all the attention I get... Okay maybe because they give to much attention.
On Sunday we visit the Old Centre of Montevideo. The Old Centre has some real nice little streets with a lane of palmtrees. I really felt like having holiday by that view. And of course we had our last visit to the beach. Unfortunately the beaches in Montevideo are not that pretty. The water is brown and everywere is trash.
We had a real nice weekend in the sun. Tomorrow my second week of school.
