Back in India after my 10 countries in 2 months journey (madatory 2 month gap period before returning to india). How I missed India albeit it was 47C when I landed (117F), it felt like a sauna and as the wind blew on me it felt like a blowdryer aimed straight at me! But the energy from the bustling traffic and crowds of people was uplifting :) India has an energy all her own...unlike Vietnam and Thailand where the people are corrupt and are run by greed, Indians believe in karma and helping eachother. As i arrived to Sharad's house I was warmly welcomed by his servants. They immediatly gave me a glass of water to drink which they always bring by a server tray. They asked if i needed anything else...keep in mind that we communicate through two different languages. The next morning I awoken in a deep sweat at six am. The heat was unbearable! Something that I would have to quickly addapt to or else suffer. The indians are naturally quite adapted as they all wear jeans and long sleeved shirts despite the heat...but it helps keep the sun off their skin. I was served breakfast and chai tea in bed and lunch without even asking for it! Every once in a while I get brought a glass of cold water. How refreshing...I can get used to this LOL. I layed the whole morning reading "ageless body, timeless mind", by Deepak Chopra. A good friend of mine recommended me to listen to some of his audio CD by Deepak and since then I was intrerested in learning more about his philosophies. I found his books by the bundle here in India...brilliant Dr, who knows life! Since I have been travelling I have read so many beautiful books (about 20 or so). I am picky at what I choose to read and I dont like simple books. I believe we should be picky about what we choose to put in our minds like how we should be picky about what we put in our bodies. We are not only what we eat, but also what we choose to think and how we feel is how we live. We have more control over our biology and lives thatn we know! From time to time I would go hang out in the AC at my godfathers office (sugar company) to use the internet or read. I stayed with him for 8 days. He is currently going through acupuncture therapy for his arm due to his stroke which occured around the same time as my accident in Thailand. He has some memory problems, but his hand movement is getting better. The brain is very plastic, so the memory and motor functions that he lost with his stroke will be relearned by other parts of his brain...like a child learning new things.
I made the mistake of drinking fresh mango juice from the market. I ended up getting delly belly and a fever :( My fever only lasted 2 days, but the Delhi belly I think will hang around for a while.
I bought a train ticket to Varanasi for tonight. It takes 10 hours to get there. It is supposed to be the holiest place in India...but they say that about many places :)
Its a place where the dead are worshiped.
In china the Tao Te Ching says that "whatever is flexible and flowing will tend to grow and whatever is rigid and blocked will wither and die."
