April's Travels
En route back to Quuenstown we went to an animal farm. At the animal farm which is probably the only thing you can do in Queenstown for 20 dollars, you can feed Bison, Deer, Donkeys, Lama, mini Horses and Goats. It was so cool, we got our bucket of food and drove round to the different animals to feed. The Deer are so beautiful but the Donkeys were the best because they were so cute and fluffy (such a girly comment). They came right up to the car and stuck their heads in to munch on our hands.
Had a bit of a hairy moment with the car and some ice where we rolled backwards down a bit of a hill and i had to steer into a skid going backwards. Using my james bond skills i sorted us out, just in time for a loopy park ranger to come along and help us, he came so close to ploughing into us himself. Never mind, it was all ok!!
That night we went out for pizza and the next day said goodbye to little Miss Holland as she set off up the east coast and we headed west for the glaciers. The drive was again stunning, very different to what we've been seeing over the last few weeks. Rigged coast line and brilliant sunshine, without any snow. Later that afternoon we reached Franz Josef and checked into a hostel. We were on a helihike the next day.
