After spending a couple of weeks in Sydney we had done all that we wanted to do so we decided to move on to Melbourne. All we had to do was book a night coach, we could sleep the whole 12 hour journey and wake up bright and refreshed for our stint in Melbourne. Well, it didn't work out as planed as the coach was realy uncomfortable which meant we didn't get much sleep and were cranky on our arival in Melbourne. Things started to look up when we managed to brag a free lift to da hostle with a tour of the city on the way! Our journey to the hostle took us through the city and along the road which is used for the australian grand prix (is that how you spell grand prix? im not sure). Our first stop in Melbourne was the beach town of St.Kilda. It's a realy nice place full of boutique shops at high street prices, i was in heaven! After a while the town started to remind us of the film (the lost boys) which was kind of creepy! so we headed into the city where we went to an art museum and took loads of holiday snaps! On new years eve we went on a 'Neighbours tour' which included a visit to the outside sets and Ramsey street which is a tiny real residential street. In the evening we went to a 'Neighbours night' it was a real laugh and we got prety merry! My christmas day started with a phone call from home which was nice. We decided that as it was christmas we had to eat soe form of chicken. We ended up at Nandos with a chicken wrap and chips! The afternoon was spent on the beach followed by an evening of movies. It was a christmas i will always remember but it doesn't compare to a family christmas at home! On the 27th we took a day tour along the graet ocean road. It was an action paked day which i will tell you all about when i get home. We saw some Koalas in the wild and visited the twelve apostles which is the rock formation in the photo. The next day we headed into the city where we have shopped, sunbathed and eaten loads! On New Years Eve we watched the fireworks along the Yara river. It was midnight and we were siting outside in shorts and t-shirts still hot! Kind of weird as you are expecting snow in England! Yesterday we went to the old Melbourne jail where Ned Kelly was executed. Tomorrow we are taking a train to a town called Mildura where we will fruit pick for a couple of weeks. Well thats it for now. I will write again soon. P.S. im not going to upload any more photos as it takes ages and it will give you all something to look forward to when i get home! i know how fun it is looking through other peoples holiday photos! hehe!
