G'day everyone! Our journey to Mildura took us through the outback down the longest, straightest roads i have ever seen. Although the town itself was nice our experience there wasn't so good. Basically all the farmers take advantage of backpackers, they expect you to work all day in the boiling sun (somedays it reached over 40) earning not enough to cover a days rent! After trying three different farms we admitted defeat and headed back to Melbourne. But before the week turned into a total disaster we got a job sticking wine labels onto bottles in an air conditioned warehouse. The job only lasted two days but we earnt enough to cover our rent for the week and when we were done the owner took us out for a boat ride and pizza with his family. It was awesome to meet some real australians! Back in Melbourne we have explored the city again, we went to see the first day of the Australian open which was awesome as our seats were second from the front row and right next to the players box! Although Murrey lost we got to see Serena Williams play and I felt like a true tennis fan for the day! Tomorrow we plan to go to a craft market and then on tuesday we begin our journey up the east coast. Well im down to my last clean set of clothes so im off to do my laundrey. Enjoy your day! xxx
