Landing in Sydney was scary! The runway is next to the water and looking down you don't think you will make it onto dry land. There was a mix up with the ozintro people picking us up so we waited for ages but found them in the end. The ozintro group are really friendly and we spent the first day in the city. After walking around the royal botanical gardens, feeding the cockatoos, seeing fruit bats and being general tourists (taking loads of photos of the opera house etc) it was time for our ride on a jet boat! It rained the whole time but that just made it so much more exciting! It was toms 21st birthday so we all went out and partied, not that I remember much of it, he he! On day two we had a surfing day trip it was hard work but I managed to stand up. I was so proud of myself! We had a late start on Wednesday with not much to do but get our Medicare cards, look at recruiting agencies and visit Sydney aquarium. After spending three days in Sydney and not sitting on a beach it was time to take the two hour trek to Bondi beach! It was worth it though with all the surfer dudes! Friday was the most exciting day as we took a tour up into the Blue Mountains. We saw kangaroos and waterfalls and lizards and our tour guide Bill was totally Australian, he was awesome. Saturday night rolled on and it was time for the pub crawl, we took a party bus around route 66! Oh My Gosh it was so Fun!Sunday night was the farewell dinner up Sydney tower, the views were spectacular and the food delicious, I even tried kangaroo which was actually quite tasty. So that's ozintro week over and time for us to make it on our own. We have had a relaxing week visiting different beaches and seeing the city, we have probably been lost 50% of the time but it has been really fun! Our plans have changed. We are no longer spending Christmas in Sydney. Instead we are taking a 12 hour coach trip to Melbourne, We leave tonight at 7!
