Anski around the World
Back in Bagkok! Well my last visit was very quick so it's nice to know that I've got at least a few days here.
Me and Isa are staying at her friend's parents' house, and the place is WAU! The family has 3 maids, a driver, a gardener and a pool cleaner dude. We don't have to lift a finger in the house, literally. The maids cook for us, do our laundry, make our beds, everything. Apparently it is very common here but I've never experiences this before. They have a guesthouse next to their actual house, and that's where me and Isa are staying. We have a huge room and our own bathroom so we can pretty much come and go as we want. It's like staying in a posh hotel with room service - and it's free! I don't know how to thank the family for their hospitality, I have offered to cook something Finnish for them one night. Also I asked my mum to send them something nice from Finland. Louisa, the mum of the family, is a famous artist here. The first night when we arrived they went to have dinner with the prince of Thailand! Coolness.
Yesterday we went to see Isabelles old school. It's very cool seeing what her life used to be like here, since I've only known her in Uni in England.
This morning we went to the Aquarium which was fun but was absolutely packed with Thai school kids! Now it's time for shopping and food, and later tonight we're going to a Jazz bar with some of Isabelle's school mates.
I have also experienced the Most Ultimate Coolest Methdod of Transport - the motorcycle taxi. It's literally a motorbike and a driver, and you sit at the back. Slightly scary and possibly lethal considering the insanity of the traffic here but I think it's wicked!
I love this place. Everything is so cheap! I knew it would be, but still it feels unreal. You can take the taxi everywhere, eat in nice places, shop a lot, buy pretty much whatever you want and yet in the end of the day you've spent only a few quid. I'm not complaining though! Also the people here are very friendly. The service you get in shops and restaurants is really really good. I'm afraid I might get too used to this...
