Anski around the World
Alright, my second day in Bangkok.
I needed to get my train ticket to Butterworth sorted, so first thing in the morning I had to find my way to the train station. I was looking very confused, trying to make sense of the bus timetables, when a tuk-tuk driver stopped in front of me and asked where I was going to (for those who don't know what a tuk-tuk is, they are three-wheeled motorcycle taxis that are both scary but a cheap and convenient way to travel around Bangkok. There should be a picture of tuk-tuk on this page). He offered a good price as well so I hopped on - only to fear for my life for the next 20 minutes. The driver was crazy, he kept on swearing loudly in Thai to other drivers (I only assume he was swearing but the tone of voice was pretty obvious), also instead of concentrating on driving, he turned around to me with a map on his hand, trying to explain me something abut temples in Bangkok. After he calmed down I actually enjoyed the ride a lot, at least now I know a cheap way to get an adrenaline rush!
I managed to get the ticket for the train that would leave at 2.45 pm. You have to be at the station half an hour before that, so since it was already noon I didn't have much time for anything else than getting something to eat and having a quick walk around before being stuck in the train for 22 hours (yep that's how long it takes!).
There's a radio in my phone, and I took my headphones with me so I've had the chance to sample some Thai pop music! It's actually pretty good, very cheesy though and because of the intonations in Thai language, it sounds like they are singing out of tune!
