Hola!
We are coming to the end of our time here in Santiago, Chile. It has been a busy couple of days but we have definately made the most of our time here. Yesturday we walked miles, seeing great architecture along the way, as well as visiting a hilltop zoo that we reached by fenicular railway and decended from by a terrifying but amazing cable car (see pics)!! We had a yummy dinner of pasta last night to refuel after a busy busy day!
Today we hit Santiago's big shopping centre with a big department store which was a bit like Debenhams really. I bought some slippers as it is my home comfort that I am missing the most! As you will see from the pics, we also indulged in an icecream today, which turned out to be three times as much as either of us could eat but the bit we did have was yummy. There are lots of gorgeous parks and fountains here in the city and we have spent a few hours there this afternoon soaking up the sun whilst planning our time in Mendoza.
We are staying here one more night (friday to saturday) and then getting a 6ish hour bus across the borderr to Mendoza in Argentina. We have booked three nights in a hostel there and then will spend the night of the 21st on a night bus to Buenos Aires. It is a 12 hour trip but on a very stright `romanesque' road so should be able to sleep and apparently the views arent as great as the ones on the way to mendoza so it is worthwhile doing it overnight. Then four nights in Buenos Aires which we have booked too (different from the one on the itinery though). Sorry for the boring info but just thought we´d explain changes to itnerary for those that are following it!
Will blog again when we´re back in Argentina!
