Haven't visited the tennis in last couple of days as tournament is now only semis and finals matches and tickets sold out/ too expensive. We explored Melbourne centre, visiting Queen Victoria Market, reputably the biggest covered market in the world......lots of 'tat' but also good quality fresh produce - meat, seafood and fruit and veg. Bought some patriotic tee shirts to wear on Australia Day. (Today). We are going to a BBQ in Kensington, a suburb of Melbourne where Sarah and Tom are looking to move to so will be a good opportunity to look at the area. Yesterday we revisited Federation Square, the touristy centre of Melbourne, where there is always some performance going on. The week leading up to Australian Day is "Buskers' week" where any street performer can entertain the crowds. Great atmosphere and some good performances. Huge screen showing the tennis live attracts even more people than usual, you can grab a deck chair and watch the tennis or just relax and enjoy the sights around you.
