s***ting, squatting and strays.
Set alarm for 6 sunrise as it would be beautiful here because we are staying right in the river! But we turned it off and went back to sleep till 10! Lazyyy
I got up to date on my blogs while Michael slept till 12! We don't have wifi in the guest house we are saying in which is weird! I hate writing blogs! It take up all of my time!
Went out for breakfast at a place called Adams Cafe! Ordered garlic bread and a coffee shake! Received iced coffee and a baguette with about 1 full bulb (the big one with lots of little ones in it) of garlic chopped up, fried and put in the middle dry. It was ... Interesting.
Went back to the room and it was so good to shower! We didn't shower yesterday, we didn't even brush our teeth and lately that's the bare minimum. I don't think my hair has seen a brush in the last 52 days we have been travelling for.
Chilled in our guest house for a bit, the view here is absolutely stunning! Bumped into Courtney and Tess who were on our bus here and staying in the same guest house who recommended going further then the street with everything on as there is rice fields etc but we didn't get chance!
The water here is all from the river. So when it comes out of the taps, shower and toilet it's grey or green. So when we shower it's horrible! Tess said she showered in bottled water! How crazy it that! Facebook won't let me search for them do if you know Tess and Courtney Bercan from Canada let me know!!
In guest houses we stay in there has always been sit down toilets, not squat down toilets but most of the time there isn't a flush! It's a big bucket full of water with a cup and you pour the water down.
When we are out though it's all squat down toilets, you keep your shoes on if you don't want chlamydia, and squat for your life. The walls are always brown so don't hold onto them, don't look around to much as if you lose your balance it's all over. You can't wee to hard either or it splashes everywhere so trickle is the key!
Sebastian from Phnom Penh was always recommending to get a curry in Asia but we havnt gotten one yet! So later on at about 5 we went for one! It was beautiful! It was even cooked by an indian! What more could we want! Had fish curry and shared a rice with Michael!
After which we realised that the fish most likely came from the river surrounding the island! Great. It's mud brown, all the sewage goes into it and restaurants on he river side don't even have bins they just throw it out of the window. Hello food poisoning.
Michael was telling me how cute this dog was and then it did a poo next to him while we were eating. Hilarious!
We call all cats and dogs Ray. Short for Rabies. Michael touches the dogs though but you should see some of them! They are all inbred horrible looking things missing limbs, fur, tails etc. Alcohol gel my whole body! Heard about this ring worm thing as well, don't fancy getting that!
Met Megan who is from Australia but has lived in Canada after we ate and went to watch the sunset over the islands and river. It was beautiful! It's today's cover photo!
It's such a small world. When we went to Sihanoukville in Cambodia, Megan stayed in the same guest house as us at the same time! Crazyyyyyy
We all went for an ovaltine shake after that as Michael recommended it! Bumped into Courtney and Tess from Canada again and all 5 of us stayed at pool bar till it closed at 12!
It was a really good night just chilling by the riverside as travelling takes it out of you!
Walked back with Courtney and Tess as they are our next door neighbours! Got chased by a pack of 7 stray dogs all the way home! My worst actual nightmare!
