London
I wrote this over two days in London
I love London! It's such a great city with so many things to see and do and learn about. I was up early today and had some free breakfast in the common area, which was really yummy. I just had some ham and cheese on a fresh dinner roll. I then went to the train station and bought an all day ticket and tried to find one of the hop-on-hop-off buses. I got off the train at Picadilly station because I recognised it from Monopoly and thought it must be popular enough to have a bus stop. I was right! The bus was expensive but it was worth it and I got to see all of the famous sights of London with a live tour guide.
I changed buses and got off outside Madame Tussauds. The queue was massive but I thought I should just wait it out since it's what I have been most excited to see in London. Luckily for me the queue moved really quickly and only took about 20 minutes. I absolutely loved the place! It was annoying at first because there are so many people inside getting in the way and being annoying, but it got better. After all the celebrity wax figures I got to go to a dungeon thing. I walked through this dark place with wax figures of famous murderers and people would jump out at you! It was scary but a lot of fun.
I thought that it was the end after all of that but it wasn't! I got in this fake taxi ride from Singin' in the Rain and it took you around all these wax figures from British history. Once that was over there was a whole other section of action heroes and then a 4D superhero movie! It was really great. When I first bought my ticket for 30 pound I thought it was way over priced but after seeing how much you get from the ticket it's definitely worth it.
I caught the train back to where my hostel is. The train system here is so easy to work out. I am in a great location and everything I need is around me. I had Indian for lunch because I was starving and I know that London is famous for its Indian cuisine. It was the best Indian that I've ever eaten in my life! Luckily Mitch isn't here or he would never leave!
The hostel is really safe. You can't get inside without showing your room key and all of the doors lock automatically even though the hostel is away from any main streets. The bathrooms are really clean, the bar is great, the food is good and it has a social atmosphere. I'm glad that I'm staying here!
Last night I met some more people and we went out into town. Our group consisted of one guy from New Zealand, one from Brisbane, the Indian-American guy and this guy from Spain. It was so funny to see how English girls dress and act over here. Even the fat ones wear short shorts and bright fluro tops. Their hair is all done like glamour models and their fake lashes are the same ones that drag queens wear.
There are some funny people staying at this hostel. I'm bringing my camera down to the bar tonight because there's this 18 year old who skulls a pint of beer in about half a second it's crazy so I want to film it. There's this older English man who just moved back from Paris and he writes jokes. He always carries around this thing that's a mix between a briefcase and a bag and he talks so much s***. He was going on last night about how he can only smoke herbal cigarettes because he got high on mushrooms and was convinced that worms had infested his brain…don't know how that led to only smoking herbal cigarettes haha.
My flight tomorrow leaves very early in the morning. Luckily for me I just met 2 guys who are also flying out from Gatwick. Their flight is 2 hours before mine but I'm going in with them anyway because it's cheaper than a taxi and they're only getting in 45 minutes before their flight because apparently you only have to be there 45 minutes early for flights in Europe. I would still want to get there 2 hours early just in case, so it works out well! And I only have to leave about half an hour earlier than I would if I were catching a taxi alone. I sent home 5 kilos worth of stuff today to make my bag lighter but mainly to get rid of the jackets that I brought over here because they take up so much room in my suitcase. Hopefully I can now use my suitcase as a backpack and I can fit my handbag in it. It should make my transport through Spain a lot easier.
I am so excited to see Cydney tomorrow! It's been nearly 6 months since I saw her last and I'm sure we will have so much to catch up on. I can't wait to hear about her travels throughout Europe. Missing home a little less now that I feel more settled, but I'm very excited to come home and see the family, Rosie, Mitch and Joey.

Dad Always a great read Youngann, I was concerned with your reference to Picadilly and the monopoly board - thank goodness you did not get off at the "go directly to gaol" station. Indian food is fantastic in London - in fact they have a great selection from around the globe with a huge influx of immigrents. Maybe thats why all the poms end up in Australia but most stay in Perth. You are excited to see Cidney and so am I - back home on Friday. Remember the Spanish guy Juan Antonio Samaranch who announced "the winner is sid - e-knee". Things are working out well for you, as they should, and so long as you are safe and healthy the rest will look after itself. Take care and we'll catch up very soos, Dad
Annie Your dad jokes get worse as you get older! Haha. Always entertaining though! I sent you an email not too long ago xx
mum John, you really should call it a day with your bad jokes...you don't want to end up like the old geezer at the London Hostel! Boom boom! Annie, it's great to hear you enjoyed London, it is a great city to visit as there is so much history and excitement. Hope your reunion with Cid in Spain goes well. Love you and miss you, Mum xx
