Santorini to Ios
Our last night in Santorini was so great. We went to Oia to see the sunset which is the wealthy part of the island. They filmed the sisterhood of the traveling pants there haha. We had a great spot at a bar and got some free wine. I didn't like either wine but one of the guys showed me a trick that I'm going to use to ease myself into enjoying red wine…mixing it with coke! It tastes really good, they said they learnt it in Barcelona. I got some fantastic pictures!
After the sunset we went back to the hotel and had some drinks and then went out. I get along really well with everybody on tour, but we have a group of 6 of us who hang out really regularly. There's Megan and Alana from the Southern Highlands who are 18, Suzanne from Canada who is 19, and Lukey and Joe who are from Adelaide and we all click really well. We went bar hopping again last night and I ended up with no sleep so I am absolutely exhausted right now on the ferry to Ios. The ferry trip is really fast - only 45 minutes! But it was delayed by about an hour so we were waiting for a really long time. Everybody brings their cars to the islands and they take a while to get on and off the ferry.
I'm supposed to be going out tonight in Ios but I'll have to see how I feel! Ios is notorious for its nightlife. We are going to this one place where you do a shot of either vodka or tequila and then you put a helmet on and they knock you over the head with a hammer, bar stool, or anything else they can find really! It sounds like a lot of fun so I'm going to do it. We do lots of shots on the island because drinks are expensive but shots are really cheap. Ios is going to be very cheap to go out in though. They have deals like 2 cocktails for 5 euro. I'll be so exhausted by the time I get to Amsterdam! I think I'll use a lot of my time in London and Amsterdam enjoying unbroken sleep because I'll be in a room by myself.
Just got to Ios and our hotel is so good! We had to carry our bags up so many stairs though because there are no elevators. The view is really good from upstairs though, the balcony looks right over the water! Shame about the Souths loss but Sharks need it far more than we do to make the finals and I'd like to see both teams in there!

Dad Lots of fun all round Annie. Please don't ever let me see you mixing red wine with coke - the coke may be a vintage and the wine could spoil the taste. I think that i've been on those big nights where you drink heaps then get bashed over the head with a bar stool - just can't remember wearing a helmet. Please look after that special little brain and don't get "hammered" too much! All good here and looking forward to Souths v Eels this Sunday. I arranged things where I fly to Japan straight after the game - I won't miss a minute of the match and arrive back in Sydney the following Friday ready for our next match against the nights. Have fun, sleep well and LOL, Dad
Mum Boy of boy Annie, bar stools and heads don't really mix as well as red win and coke (urghh). Anyway, for the first time I wish you were a Taswegian with two heads to give yourself a better chance of survival - one head to take the abuse of the shots and the other head to take the bashing from the bar stools. But at the end of the night I'm sure you survived. Take care and look after your best asset - your fake nails....only kidding, your gorgeous head! Mum xxx
