Puno - Peru
We arrived into Puno in the afternoon and it was lovely and sunny. We grabbed a taxi and arrived at Marlon's House in Puno. It was a lovely hostel, more like a hotel but with the friendliness of a hostel. Our room was fantastic, we had a corner room on the third floor with great views due to two walls were entirely made up of floor to ceiling glass. The room was really warm due to the sun shining in the windows all day, which was great especially at night when it was cold. Our time in Puno was spent wandering around the town, watching the many parades, (Peru and Bolivia love their parades) and visiting Sillustani. Sillustani sits in the hills of Lago Umayo peninsula. The ruined towers stand out for miles against the landscape. The chullpas (funerary towers) were made from massive coursed blocks and reached heights of up to 12 meters.
After a few days we decided we had to move on, we arranged our bus to Cusco, Machu Picchu was getting closer!
